Apple Releases iOS 7 Beta for iPad App Developers

Apple has released the Beta version of iOS 7 allowing iPad app developers to start cranking out new apps for the device. iOS 7 was released a few weeks ago at WWDC 2013 in San Francisco and for a short time was only available for iPhone app developers.

According to TechCrunch, “..the new beta is the return of Voice Memos to iOS. This was left out of the first beta, but reports said Apple just didn’t have it ready for inclusion in that version, so it’s no surprise to see it return here. The interface and icon are completely redesigned, as one might expect, getting rid of the skeumorphic rendition of a mic that dominated the previous version, and flattening out controls and interfaces.”

iOS developers and user interface designers have been eagerly awaiting the release of iOS 7. The software, which has been dubbed as being the most drastic software update for Apple since debuting the first iPhone in 2007. iOS 7 has so far received mixed reviews by the media and iPhone app developer community, with valid points on both sides.

As an iPhone app developer in Las Vegas it is an exciting period to be in the mobile software industry. In the coming months a large swath of iPhone and iPad apps will undergo major redesigns in preparation for the public release of iOS 7. The software will unlock a great deal of value for the developers who will continue to focus on improving the in-app experience for both iPad and iPhone device users.
